About Turku

Turku is the oldest and the fifth largest city in Finland. It has been the capital of Finland until 1812. Turku has always had an important place in the Finnish history. The city was totally destroyed by the great fire in 1827 but was rebuilt on either banks of the river with a new town plan under the vision of the architect C. L. Engel.

Turku is a versatile city where history and culture mix with a trendy life style seamlessly. Turku's best attraction is the river Aura and its banks. Getting to Turku

The bus station is just 120 m from the ferry terminal and the local bus number 1 connects the terminal with the city centre every 15 minutes.

The Finnish rail network is one of the best in Scandinavia. There is a train station just 100 m away from the ferry terminal and frequent trains connect to the rest of Finland.
